Client & Industry Testimonials

"I've fished muskies for over 30 years and after doing it on my own the HARD way for most of those years, I finally decided to hire some Professional Guides.

Since hiring those guides my catch rate has went way up. I've now fished with a lot of great fisherman, and some very good guides. However, Josh Borovsky is something special, he really stands out! It's like being in the boat with all day with a muskie DVD/VIDEO!

He taught me more in our 1 day trip than all my other guide trips combined! I've never learned so much while seeing and catching muskies! He is the GOLD standard and the only guide I'll ever consider from now on!

Give yourself a gift, spend a day on the water with Josh!"

Josh here is a photo of the 51 incher I caught with you out on Mille Lacs. Thanks again! Here is a testimonial I wrote up in case you want to use it for your web site. Hope to go fishing with you again soon!

"When it comes to chasing muskies, Josh is focused and pays attention to detail. What differentiates him from other muskie pros is that he has an ability to adapt and innovate. Because of this and his willingness to reach out and share his knowledge and experience with others, I am always anticipating my next muskie trip with Josh."

The first time I ever went musky fishing was in 2005 with Josh. He asked me beforehand what I wanted to get out of the trip, and never having been musky fishing, I really didn’t know how to respond. I said “I just want to catch a musky,” but I did not have an appreciation for how hard it was. I learned since there was barely a cloud in sight and it was going to be a hot day, we might have our work cut out for us! Josh had a fat 42’ musky in the boat a little over an hour into our trip, it was the biggest fish I had ever seen! He asked if I wanted to reel it in, I passed, I thought how hard could this be, we had watched several other large fish follow our lures to the boat and now he caught this monster! Josh said that we could stay on the lake as long as my body could hold out.

About 10 hours and countless casts later, I caught my first musky. It was 37’ inches long, and was the biggest fish that I had ever held in my hands before. Looking back I’m glad I had to put in some effort before I caught my first musky. We actually caught 2 more fish later that day (38’ and 41’). That’s 4 muskies in one day! Beat that for your first time musky fishing! (see pics)

I had so much fun musky fishing with Josh that I hired him again in 2006 to take me and my dad out. My dad had heard me describe what it was like fishing with a professional who is outfitted with the latest gear, GPS, and computer equipped trolling motor, etc. But most of all, he had seen the pictures with me holding a pair of nice sized muskies and shown them off to his buddies at work. He really wanted to catch one!

I ended up catching a 47 inch musky early on in our trip! This fish was a fighter and jumped out of the water several times. Throughout the day, we rotated between several spots where Josh knew there were fish, casting these giant lures until our arms were practically dead! We had sighted a few fish following our lures from afar and were hoping that if we kept our lines in the water, eventually we would catch one. My dad hooked a 48’ musky in shallow water as the sun was setting. This fish was noticeably wider than the first one and was absolutely huge! There is an awesome pic of me holding it with my dad in the background. It would have been nice to get a few more pics, but we had the fish out of the water long enough, and it was really cool to see it swim away.

We kept at it for a bit while it was dark, and Josh attached a battle scarred surface lure to my dad’s line. A short while later a huge wall of water erupted behind my dad’s lure before it suddenly disappeared. I could not believe the deep woosh sound this fish made as my dad’s rod doubled over! By the looks of the splash, it might have been the biggest fish of the day. But we’ll never know, because that one got away. Regardless, we had an awesome time and look forward to another trip in ’07!

"Talking with Josh for 10 minutes makes one thing very clear: Josh is a detail-driven angler who spends hours studying muskies. Fishing with Josh for 1 day makes another thing clear: Josh's intense attention to detail produces fish. Josh took me fishing to demonstrate a particular presentation to me. Within two hours we had each caught a +40-inch muskie. Exactly how he said we would."

"Josh's countless hours on the water show through in his ability to assess the conditions, figure out a pattern, and come up with a productive game plan on a routine basis. Josh maximized every minute of our time on the water through resourceful planning to ensure that we were in the right places at the right times. Fishing with Josh has yielded my personal best musky, tiger musky, and northern pike. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Josh for your next fishing adventure."

"I really enjoyed getting to fish with you Josh, I learned a lot and I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. And heck, I even caught a 20 plus pound muskie in the first 15 minutes! (although I felt like I was 100 years old that nite after throwing the double cowgirl for nearly 5 hours, sheesh)."

Josh,

Who knew we'd have such a pristine day on Lake Minnetonka as we did on November 22nd? My son's 17th birthday will be one for the scrapbook. While he's boated a few nice fish over the years, we're convinced that this musky wouldn't have been taken had it not been for the figure eight tutorial you gave early in the day.

Hope we get to fight more than ice on his 18th birthday! Until next
year...

All the best,
Rob Buchner

I will never forget fishing with Josh on Lake Vermillion in July of 2006. We had boated some fish earlier in the day, but there had been a lull in the fish activity for several hours. The wind began to die down and slightly change directions. Josh looked at me and said "I know where we're going and we're gonna stick a big fish right now." Fifteen minutes later we were taking pictures of a 50 incher I caught on that very spot. There's not many guys who can call a shot like that in the middle of lull and be right on.
